We live in a time where a Sega console is only the subject of legend. The new generation might be surprised that they were a company who used to produce gaming consoles but my friends and I have had a very good relationship with the Sega Megadrive and the Saturn. That was until console sales dropped and Sega was forced to cease its hardware manufacturing and focus only on game production.
At the half of this decade, new and exciting games were published and one of them that made a notable dent in the market was Guitar Hero. Using Guitar Hero was like reliving one’s dreams of becoming a rockstar hence its high popularity.
To my surprise Techtoy, a Brazillian gaming company is still making the Megadrive/Genesis and Master System and they have been successful in innovating the once thought extinct system. Now they have come up with the Mega Drive 4 Guitar Idol which is a white affair and comes with 87 classic SEGA 16bit games. The game is pure 16 bit goodness and tries to emulate the entire Guitar Hero affair but not too much to illicit a lawsuit.
The slim PSP will be 32% smaller and 36% lighter than the regular PlayStation and will use 34% less power. It will also ditch the standard 80 Gig of HDD and replace it with a 120 Gig HDD. The PS3 slim will be sold on September and will retail at $300.
The powers of minutiarization strikes again!This time a talented modder stripped his old XBOX and changed the case into a polyurethane case that is drastically smaller than the Wii. The DVD drive is gone. Madness you think? Nope it really is designed for XBOX Media Center. Nice concept indeed!
How come almost all the cool stuff comes from Japan? According to Kotaku, Nintendo will release a black version of the ever popular Wii and will retail for about ¥25,000 (US$260). For the obsessive-compulsive in all of us, do not worry. Good ole Ninty will also sell black versions of Wii peripherals and will cost as follows: Black Wii Remote ¥3,800 (US$40), Black Nunchaku ¥1,800 (US$19), Black Classic Controller Pro ¥2,000 (US$21). Hmmmm I’d settle for a white version not unless a crimson red Wii comes out.
Ladies and gents another bundle is upon us, this time its a red XBOX 360 bundled with Resident Evil. Aside from the usual cables it is bundled with 120Gig HDD Resident Evil 5 and Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix. The bundle is supposed to retail at 399 dollars. It is a bundle of a good deal. Alas Sony has released the PS3 slim! OOOOPS! Gasp! Its the Sonilex Console! Able to spit out high def 8 bit Nintendo Games and control it via the intuitive dual shack controller(not a typo).
