Iran recently(Oct 17, 2008) attempted to break in to the Guinness Book of World Records via making the Word’s Longest Sandwich. What kind of sandwich do you ask, why its an Ostrich-Chicken Sandwich. Ostrich?? are you kidding?? nope! apparently Iran is the 3rd largest producer of ostrich meat! Sad news is the crowd watching the event ate all the sandwich before it was measured, sadly most Iranians have not yet eaten ostrich meat:( Al Jazeera video after the break!

After the successful Spider-Man 3, Sam Raimi and Mr Seabiscuit himself Tobey Maguire has signed their John Hancocks for the fourth and fifth sequel to the blockbuster movie franchise.
What is uncertain is the fate of Kirsten Dunst who is yet to sign for Sony.Hopefully she gets to sign to redeem the atrocity of Marie Antoinette Production was said to start on 2010.
Speculations for the villain is Dr Kurt Connors who was repeatedly mentioned and eventually played by James Vanderbilt in the first 2 sequels hopefully he signs up again.

For weeks I have been been nagging Jepoy to fix my blogger layout and one night, viola! He did it !
I designed my own logo but Glen Ramos,the most kickass NBA live modder did some coloring because I don’t know my color combinations. Jepoy one upped my header design by doing some magic on it and by bossing him around I told him what kind of style I wanted and the fellow made everything from scratch. Thanks guy you are a geek’s bestfriend.

About Geekothon It started with a blog back in 2006, I wont name the blog anymore because of the profanity it contains. For Blog Action Day 2008:
When do we say that a person is in poverty? When do we say that one is not in poverty? These are the questions that we have to tackle. How do some people make ends meet on a meager salary? How can rich people sleep at night knowing they can help alleviate the suffering of poor people? Would poor people like dole outs? In a world filled with trouble would people still care? How can we really eliminate global poverty?
There is a thin line between a long term and a short term solution. Here in the Philippines, the poor have been exploited by almost all politician in their pursuit of office. I wont be surprised if the same things are happening in other countries. Rich people do charitable works but do they do it for tax exemptions or do they really give a damn? The real solution was written in the bible; ” do not feed a man fish but teach him how to fish”. We have all read micro financing and the like to help poor people but is that enough? The solution is not on business but on being able to sustain an income and being self sufficient in terms of giving one’s family 3 decent meals a day and a roof upon their head. Which leads us to the problem of education, poverty hinders a person to have an education, a poor education leads to a person not getting a decent job which in turn he gets poorer. Then there is overpopulation in this world, people with money are concentrated on a select few people of the population whilst the poor demographic spreads like wild fire throughout the map.
